Sport and leisure in Liège
A city of sport and leisure
Liège currently hosts international sporting competitions for athletes and amateurs alike: International athletics meetings, Tour de France, competitions in the Seraing Olympic pool, ice skating in Liège, etc.
Liège is home to the loudest fans!
Soak up the atmosphere of the “Sclessin cauldron” (the name of Standard de Liège’s stadium) or at Country Hall with Liège basketball.
A dense network of sports associations and clubs means many activities are on offer in Liège. There is something for everyone: Retrouvailles, a meeting of Liège actors every 1st weekend of September in La Boverie park.
On sunny days, the locals go to recreation centres. And ramblers follow the ADEPS routes.
A spa city
In Liège, the spa tradition is a thousand years old. The quality of the water in Chaudfontaine, which is home to the only natural warm mineral water spring in Belgium, makes it a unique spa centre. The water gushes out naturally at a temperature of 37°. Medical balneology became popular in the 20th century. Today, Chaudfontaine, with its unrivalled relaxation areas in the heart of an idyllic green space, is a spa in Wallonia and Euregio.
